Taking a serious note of the matter, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has issued a notice to unauthorized courses being conducted in different states by unauthorized Institutions, stating that these courses will attract legal proceedings and punishments under Section 51 and Section 52 of Dentists Act, 1948. The council noted that such courses/training might produce ill-trained and incompetent personnel and ultimately compromise a patient's health.

The council has also made it clear that the candidates taking up these illegal courses are neither entitled for registration nor for any job and are liable to be initiated or taken action under Section 47 to 49 of the Dentists Act, 1948. Source: DNA
