According to the stats from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), India has more diabetics than any other nation of the world. Current estimates peg the number of diabetics in the country at about 62 million-an increase of over 10 million from 2011. The risk of foot problems in people with diabetes is increased, largely because of either diabetic neuropathy or peripheral arterial disease, or both. These guidelines provide recommendations on the prevention and management of foot problems arising out of diabetes.
The guidelines have been documented as “ Diabetic foot problems: prevention and management ” and have been published by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in 2015.
