I had recently operated a case of cataract in a lady of 45 year having 16 Deep keratotomy RK incisions. Lady had Posterior Staphyloma with the axial length of 32 mm and IOL chosen was of -4.0 Dioptre. The best possible site of corneal incision was chosen and surgery of Phaco with IOL implantation performed extremely well but at the end of surgery, one RK incision at 12 O Clock opened, requiring a 10/0 incision and hence one 10/0 incision was also given at the corneal suture site. Healon was used during surgery and minimal phaco power was used. Post op, the lady remained alright for 5 days and then she developed minor infection of the RK wound at 11 O Clock.
The infection was treated well with intensive antibiotics. Thereafter, Bandage contact lens was applied. Every 3rd day she was inspected. She is now much better but there is slight lid swelling in spite of anti-inflammatory…
