CASE SYNOPSIS Medical history Patient reported no relevant medical history and denied taking any medications He has no known drug allergies He has family history for type 2 DM He denied smoking or the use of recreational drugs and is a social drinker Physical exam The vitals were stable and no extra-oral asymmetry and lymphadenopathy were noted The tooth in question also presented with suppuration through a sinus tract on the palatal aspect A periapical radiograph showed radiolucenecy around the apex of the tooth in the absence if pulpal pathology confirmed by both clinical and radiographic exam. Intra oral-exam The localized area of >6mm probing depth with bleeding on probing, recession, mobility, furcation involvement and moderate to severe radiographic bone loss.
