This child of 8 years, was treated as a case of dengue for 6 days without any relief, being their family physician brought to me for examination. I found the puffy eye lids and mild puffy face with distended abdomen. I asked for CBC, Xray chest, USG of abdomen and unine exam. Reports were 10600 mm 3 , bil pleural effusions, ascitis, urire albumin, granular cast ,urea 24 ,s creatinine 0.72 sgot 28 and pt 18.
Dengue NS1 IgM and IgG negetive. Thinking of nephrotic syndrome I started Prednisolone 10 mg bid and after five days child became more oedematous with scrotal swelling and face getting more puffy.
