The previously reported studies have linked certain nutrients with the severity and risk of systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The results have reported that vitamin D and moderate alcohol intake can lower the severity of the SLE. However, very few information is available on the effect of diet on the treatment of SLE. As glucocorticoids are prescribed for the management of SLE, the investigators designed a study to investigate the influence of diet on the GCs in the treatment of SLE patients.
