Two weeks back urine culture of a 53 years old female was done, who was suffering from fever and burning micturition. Culture reported Klebsiella sp. which is sensitive only to colistin. Pus cells in urine were plenty and colony count >10 5 .
The clinician did not give colistin rather readvised culture after 10 days. This time urine culture showed growth of E.coli sensitive to carbapenems, nitrofurantoin, and fosfomycin. This time pus cells are 16-20/hpf and colony count >10 5 . What may be the reason for this change of organism? Which report is correct?
