The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) has released revised guidelines for managing difficult airways in both adult and pediatric patients. The previous guidelines published (2013) are revised based on the latest scientific findings, surveys of specialists, and efforts of the members of ASA and other societies around the world. The guidelines are applicable for patients with both anticipated and unanticipated difficult airways, ICU patients, critically ill patients, and obstetric patients.

##Airway evaluation## Perform airway risk assessment before initiating airway management or anesthetic care.
