The Doctors association has called for the rollback of the one-year mandatory rural service for the MBBS students. Every year many students pass out and the government forces them to do a one year long rural service and refrains from making them permanent. Thus, it would be an easy way for health system to be jobless soon.
The government is also planning to consider this one-year service as an entrance test for PG courses further. The association head said, “This move would leave students focusing only on entrance test and they will not develop their clinical or surgical skills.
