Doctors today feel helpless and hounded. We are disempowered and disenfranchised. No one trusts us and no one respects us. Laws such as the PCPNDT Act jail doctors for minor clerical errors, and doctors are treated as criminals until proven otherwise.
Even though we spend so many years trying to master the art and craft and science of medicine, we do not earn even a fraction of what our peers in the financial services sector are paid. It causes us a lot of heartburn when we see some of the adverse judgments which are passed against doctors by courts; and it pains us when we see the media taking perverse pleasure in badmouthing doctors for what they paint as being negligent and reckless behavior whenever a patient has a bad outcome.
