The Union Budget 2024-2025 is approaching and it has prompted doctors to submit their recommendations for the healthcare budget. The Association of Healthcare Providers (AHPI) has proposed incentives for the private sector to establish more hospitals, along with funding for new medical and nursing colleges and converting 300-bedded hospitals into medical colleges. They have also recommended allocations to enhance disease eradication through adult immunization and improve geriatric services, emergency care, mental health awareness, and more.
The AHPI has urged restructuring of the insurance sector, expansion of telemedicine, increased funding for medical research, and support for medical tourism.
