In Maharashtra, there is a shortage of MBBS Doctors and there is lots of pressure on existing old in-service doctors. This condition did not occur in one day. Actually, treating doctors as like other Government servants, are not given their legal benefits by Govt like back service benefits, overtime and security at their jobs. New doctors joined, but due to harrassment by clerical staff and superiors they left their jobs.
Lots of corruption was done and doctors were kept in pity condition for years without giving extra overtime pay. Also, new government gave all powers to the District Collector for all matters regarding appointment of leave applications and NOC for transfer and politically motivated complaint dealing against Doctors.
