A gynaecologist was assaulted by drunk relatives of pregnant women at state-run hospital in Thane. Doctor was attacked by them as he decided to wait until woman goes into labour rather than performing a caesarean.

Due to increasing assaults on doctors IMA has proposed formation of local doctor groups helping doctors in such cases and insisted on installing CCTV cameras at their centres.
