Extracorporeal radiotherapy was opted by a private hospital in Howrah for treating bone cancer. This was first time in eastern India that someone opted for such procedure. It was carried out on 13-year-old boy from Agartala who was suffering from Ewing sarcoma.
Amputation was ruled out by doctors due to his age. Cancer had spread to entire ulna bone. Finally, the boy was successfully treated by extracorporeal radiotherapy method.
