Kochi flood relief camps in Kerala have hit a serious shortage of medicines and disinfectants. Kerala is on high demand of doxycycline antibiotics, tetanus injections, antifungal creams, insulin as well as disinfectants like bleaching powder and chlorine tablets. According to complaints, there is shortage of medicines at government hospitals that supply them to relief camps even as the health department fears an outbreak.

National Institute of Epidemiology and IMA are working on this issue. IMA has planned to start free medical camps across the state in private hospitals which will provide medicines to these camps.
