My patient is a 59 years old lady who was detected to be borderline hyperglycemic and a moderately elevated total cholestrol 231mg/dl with a normal lipid profile. She was put on oral hypoglycemics and ststins (rosuvastatin) She developed thrombocytopenia and her platelets fell to 30000/dl A rare side effect of statins has been reported and on cessation of the drug her platelets improved over 04 weeks to normal levels.
Request sufggestion of alternative medications for managing the raised level of cholestrol.
