As a Physician trained in Echocardiology from Distance education of Annamalai University in 2007 to 2008, I have some better analytical knowledge related to echo reports done by cardiologists. I am repeatedly coming across lot of missed lesions or wrong lesions reported by lot of echo reports. An obviously normal case but reported as ASD by a DNB cardiologist. The diagnosis was thought to be wrong because of the X- Ray findings. An elderly woman had huge cardiomegaly in X-Ray Chest.
But two echo reports-one by a private cardiologist and another by a medical college cardiologist were normal. I have to do Cardiac MRI to prove patient has got mitral valve stenosis with MR. Recently, a case of HOCM by ECG and clinically, reported as normal and to prove waiting for cardiac MRI.
