Concurrent chemoradiation therapy is a standard treatment option for locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) not amenable to surgical resection. Despite improved outcomes with chemoradiation therapy, disease recurrence and treatment toxicity continue to be major challenges.
