Endodontic-periodontal lesions affect both the pulpal and periodontal tissues of the teeth. The lesion of the pulp can lead to periodontal disease and vice versa. However, these lesions are often regarded as independent diseases, which makes the diagnosis and management of this interdependent disease complicated. In addition, reinfection or progression of the lesion can occur when any of the lesions is not completely treated.
