Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the only known treatment that functions by delivering high concentrations of oxygen under pressure. This allows for accelerated healing and also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which aren’t possible under normal physiologic conditions. HBOT, however, is contraindicated for patients with seizure disorders, pneumo-thorax, and high fevers or patients receiving certain medications like chemotherapy or opioids. With appropriate training and promotion, HBOT can provide an excellent growth opportunity for general practices as well as specialty hospitals.
