A 38Y/F k/c/o hypothyroidism since 1.5 yrs (15 Months) on Levothyroxine (25 ucg) came to me for first time with Reports showing T3 401, T4 7.98, TSH 10.09. USG (Neck) done s/o WNL. No Significant complaints (No Tachycardia, No palpitations, No Diarrhoea or Constipation, No Exophthalmos, No Tremors on outstretched Hands of Forearms, No significant weight Loss. Gland is Moving well with deglutition, No dysphagia, No Dysphonia, Non - Tender). I asked her to Repeat her Test with TPO AB after 2 weeks from a good lab but instead she did it from local lab.
Till then asked her to continue with the same dose of Levothyroxine as TSH was on little higher side (10.09) with Calcium and Vit.D supplementation. What could be the reason behind raised T3, with raised TSH and Normal T4. Is it okay to start carbimazole for very high T3 along vit Levothyroxine? Wat would be the line of management in such…
