We are failing to: Address the obsterician transiton environmnet in which the primary causes of maternal deaths shift towards indirect causes Draw our attention to accompanied improvements along the continuum of carefor women and children Focus on elimination of significant inequities that lead to disparities in quality and access influencing maternal mortality among sub populations We should: Start addressing the social determinants that contibute to the maternal mortality Shift from a system focused on emergency care for a minority of women to wellness focused care for all women Provide preventive and supportive care that responds to womens needs Provide respectful care Emphasis should be on AAAAQ ( Acessibility, Availability , Affordability, Accepatability and Quality) Effective and efficient…
