The Supreme Court has ordered CBI investigation into a private medical college for allegedly filling vacant hospital beds with fake patients. Recently, Madhya Pradesh High Court had permitted a private medical college to admit students even before MCI approval. Therefore, the Supreme Court had termed the admissions provisional and ordered MCI inspection. For getting MCI approval, medical colleges need to fulfil the patient-bed ratio requirement.
During MCI inspection, the officials noted that the medical college had depicted FAKE PATIENTS to show occupancy. Taking a serious note of this issue, the supreme court cancelled the admissions of students and ordered MP government to accommodate them in colleges as per their merits.
