With the concerted effort of a total of nine government and health authorities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, a 9-year-old girl born with one kidney got back a new life. This five-hour-long successful surgery for a kidney transplant took place at UAE’s first and only dedicated children’s hospital in Dubai . According to the CEO of the hospital, it was a defining moment in the history of Dubai’s pediatric healthcare system. The nine-year-old girl , who was born with only one kidney (a medical condition, known as Renal Agenesis ) became the first child to receive a kidney transplant in Dubai.
