We all get the opportunity to attend the CME/Seminars of different specialties and super specialities. Recently I attended one such seminar on Acute Kidney injury. The speaker and experts on the panel came out with the latest guidelines on management .The take home message what I could gather was the aggressive management of Kidney injury by dialysis. Earlier there used to be classification like Pre-Renal,Renal, and Post renal cause. Now pre-renal has been abandoned.
I wondered often we get the report in dehydrated kids with raised urea and creatinine and so many conditions of shock we get these raised values. It happens often in ICU and ICCU. The teaching so far had been to wait for suitable time and wait and watch for the acute injury to the kidney to respond to management of shock.
