A 78-year-old woman, diagnosed with gastric cancer, developed fever four months after receiving second-line chemotherapy with paclitaxel monotherapy. She had previously developed gastrointestinal complications after receiving first-line chemotherapy with ramucirumab plus paclitaxel. She had a temperature of 38.0°C and presented with no other abnormalities. She was treated at the out-patient department and discharged. Her blood count, serum analysis, blood culture and urine analysis were normal. However, she reported to the hospital with a temperature of 39.8°C and drowsiness 4 days later.
