It is indicated to reduce or eliminate laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) symptoms, has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for over-the-counter (OTC) use.
The drug-free, non-surgical device was previously available only by prescription. The device is worn around the neck while sleeping and applies slight external pressure to the cricoid cartilage area, which increases the internal pressure of the upper esophageal sphincter (UES).
