As an update to our previous news an Indian pharma company has just launched generic tablets comprising of ledipasvir-sofosbuvir used for treating of hepatitis C. This is the first once-a-day, fixed-dose oral combination therapy that has been approved for chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 patients   The global burden of Hepatitis C is almost 185 million. Out of which, almost 12 million people are infected with Hepatitis C in India and many other are unaware of their infection status. For the treatment of the Hepatitis C combination therapy works better than monotherapy.

Earlier highest response rates in treating Hep C have been achieved with pegylated interferon in combination with ribavirin.
