Given the non-aggressive nature of the cataract or retinal surgeries, what is the criteria for referral to a cardiologist, to read an ECG by a family physician suspected to be abnormal for a case posted for phaco surgery IOL or Retinal surgery, to be posted in the next 1 or 2 days.As family physicians can we give fitness ignoring chronic conditions in ECG except acute MI or any emergency onditions[ plz know, that we cannot read perfectly well ECGs. It means to say can we avoid consulting for cases like LBBB, RBBB, LVH, T wave inversions in all chest leads etc.
as there may be difficulty in Consulting cardiologists with short notice, or they may be busy and also patient may save for consultation or any investigation suggested by cardiologist. Kindly suggest.
