More deaths are continuing to occur at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College. Deaths of nine more children have been reported, taking the toll to 105 since the August 10 tragedy. Among these nine deaths, five were reported from the neonatal ward, two from encephalitis ward and two from the general pediatric ward. The chief officer reiterated that besides the encephalitis ward, deaths have been reported from other wards also.

Reports suggest the deaths were caused by the spread of encephalitis and a shortage of oxygen supply in the pediatrics ward. Furthermore, without having any initial enquiry, two doctors have been blamed and they are being suspended. However, it is still unclear whether the hospital administration or the higher authorities were at fault.
