Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the commonest solid lesion within the kidney and accounts for approximately 90% of all kidney malignancies. It includes different RCC types with specific histopathological and genetic characteristics. The current guidelines by European Association of Urology provide urologists evidence-based information and recommendations for the management of renal cell cancer.

The key recommendations from the guideline are as follows: The most common etiological factors include lifestyle such as smoking, obesity, and hypertension.
