The pelvi-ureteric junction (PUJ) Obstruction is the most common pathological cause of neonatal hydronephrosis. The following points should be noted on antenatal ultrasonography - AP diameter of the pelvis, whether it is unilateral or bilateral, echogenicity of the kidney, dimension of the ureter, volume of the bladder and the volume of the amniotic fluid. Significant AP diameter of renal pelvis as per the trimester First Trimester. > 4 mm  Second Trimester.
