Before the β Minimum Requirements for Annual MBBS Admissions Regulations, 2020 β came to force, the Medical Council of India (MCI) regulated MBBS admissions. Post the new regulations, the National Medical Commission (NMC) began to oversee MBBS admissions. However, the NMC has allegedly violated the law in bringing the new regulations into effect. The NMC has framed new regulations relating to the land required for opening a new medical college, teaching faculty, and the number of beds required.
In this regard, the NMC had uploaded the proposed draft on October 13th on its website for all its stakeholders to provide feedback in the next five days, i.e., till October 19th.
