The government of India has planned to launch a toll-free number to reach out and reply the queries of tuberculosis patients. It is hoped that this will make RNTCP more patient-centric. India is the country with the highest burden of TB, with World Health Organization (WHO) statistics for 2013 giving an estimated incidence figure of 2.1 million cases of TB for India out of a global incidence of 9 million. Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) was launched as state-run tuberculosis (TB) control initiative of the Government of India.
The program provides various free of cost, quality tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment services across the country through the government health system.
