This writeup is intended to educate those doctors who are senior but have no idea of demand of Home care and also to tell the youngsters who are just starting practice to look at the scope of this in their initial years of practice. I am surprised that when I posted a reply on a question on Compounders a dozen doctors have attacked me personally saying that I am encouraging quackery by allowing my nursing staff private practice. It was distressing to see that doctors equate private practice with doctoring and have no idea of scope of private nursing staff to look after the nursing needs of bedridden patients.
In Gurgaon where I practice I am unable to find any doctor who is wiling to make home visits even for a fees of Rs 2000 per visit. People living in high rises and other houses have to spend Rs 2500 on ambulance and scoop stretcher to visit their hospital for even minor nursing…
