A 27 yeras old primigravida had abortion at around 8 weeks of amenorrhoea. Heart activities not detected in routine USG examination. Previously Heart activity of embryo was detected at 6 weeks of gestation. There was no history of pelvic pain, bleeding per vagina any signs of infection. so its was a case of missed abortion. there was no ingestion of any medicine , no diabetes , hypo / hyper thyroidism , no history of trauma. Folic acid 5 mg started as soon as pregnency was diagnosed.
MTP was done. Rubella vaccine was given after MTP. two months later after MTP , TORCH test was done showing IgG for rubella (effect of vaccine), and weak positive IgM titer for Cytomegalo virus. Now she want to plan again. What precautions should be taken at present to avoid repetation of missed abortion ? What is the interpretation of TORCH test in this case ? What was the reason of missed abortion ?
