“Homicide is killing a human by another human”. Weapons used for homicide are knives or other cutting instruments, firearms, blunt objects (club, hammer, etc.), personal weapons (hands, feet, etc.) strangulating and smothering objects, fire, water (as in drowning), explosives, narcotics, and poisons. All these methods have been detailed in various studies; however, homicide by poison has not much studied. In this regard, a recent study published in the Journal of forensic and legal medicine evaluated the prevalence percentage of homicidal poisoning in India and the poisons involved in those cases.
