This incident happened recently in a govt.medical college in chennai. Attenders of a pregnant woman wanted dicharge AMA to go to home because they were not satisfied with that hospital.
The pG adviced that the lady is severely anemic(Hb~5g) and warned that it may be life threatening to shift then, because it was very near EDD...she convinced them to stay, and the next day the patient delivered live baby, but the baby was having RDS, asphyxia...the baby was kept in ICU and eventually died...the mother is stable....the attenders protest that the pg purposefully killed the baby, and the baby wouldnot have died if they had gone home....
