A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Pediatrics reported that severe malaria was the predominant factor in the etiology of fever-induced coma in the pediatric patients; however, it can be prevented and cured. Study further suggest that the fight against malaria should be a priority and the search for other causes , especially in case of prolonged coma , should not be ignored .
