A study emphasizing on the significance of treatment guidelines giving cost estimate was carried out in pneumonia patients. Here, the main objective was to see the impact of direct and indirect treatment expenses on the patient. According to this study it was concluded that the cost of antibiotic therapy on pediatrics have major impact on the healthcare expenditure. The direct and the indirect cost of diagnosis and treatment in these pediatric population was assessed. It was found while assessing the direct cost that as the hospital stay was increased the cost burden also increased.
