When I was in government sector (Army) I had no control over the number of patients I saw in a day as the doctors in government hospitals don't. However even in private practice for the past 15 years, I am overwhelmed by the deluge of patients especially during monsoons. Are there any guidelines as to how many patients a doctor should see in a day without affecting the sanity or efficiency.
I know answers would be different from surgical specialities but I would like to hear the views of all. I am now 61 years old and my present OPD is 70 but in unhealthy it goes up to 150.
