Due to the inclusion of doctors in consumer act, it had become a habit of patients to file complaints seeking compensation claiming negligence. There is nothing preventing false complaints. A doctor has to spend money and time to prove his innocence, risking notoriety as well. Patients can file the case saying 'let us try' claiming compensation as they have nothing to lose.

This is a big deterrent for furthering patient care. How can we prevent doctors from being harassed?
