Clinical trials are essential to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the drugs that can be administered to any group of patients in society. However, clinical trials conducted around the world tend to enroll the majority groups in society and neglect minority people from different races, genders, and age groups. These inequities in clinical trial enrollment (CTE) not only negatively affect the morale of the community but also compromise the outcomes of the trials. Recent analysis of clinical trials conducted in the United States on cancers 1 and COVID-19 vaccines 2 can help us to understand the factors that cause inequities in clinical trials and ways to overcome them.
