A hospital and a gynecologist has to pay huge amount as compensation after very common routine operation like D&C and that too in a 61-year-old lady as usually in such cases uterus is smaller in size contracted as missed or septic abortion or pregnancy is not present it is mostly for biopsy, if the Surgeon would have been more alert in selecting patient, diagnosing complication soon and taking care of patient without hasty discharge and corrective operation done earlier, the patient would have been better managed and having less complications and suffering and she might have avoided consumer complain. The complainant submitted that she had approached and consulted a gynecologist at the hospital with a complaint of excessive white discharge and she was advised to undergo a D & C procedure.
