Doctors in Dubai have reported a novel use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to trigger brain stem cell production. Potential applications include delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and reversal of brain aging, as results showed improved physical performance and mental alertness in participants post-therapy. WHO projected a five percent increment in the growth rate of the population over 65 in UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait from the year 2000-2050. In the light of this, a rise in incidences of geriatric diseases is anticipated in these countries. Dubai recently rolled out a unique medical treatment that could help address this challenge.
