Eggshell calcification is the granular calcification along the margin of a mass, and it generally relates to lamellar lymph nodes. The calcifications are either broken or solid and are seen in almost 1% of patients suffering from this disease.

They appear as round nodular opacities (1-5 mm), with reticular or reticulonodular opacities observed on rare occasions. They can be easily diagnosed with a chest radiograph.
