Case presentation: A 10-year-old boy was presented to the emergency department by his parents. He complained of a swollen right knee and severe pain while playing. Further, he had recurrent episodes of pain and swelling in his knees and shoulders for a year. History: The patient had a history of multiple blood transfusions and no history of trauma.

Physical examination: Physical examination revealed painful, tensely swollen, warm, and diffusely tender knee and shoulder joints (refer to cover image).
