Understanding the classification of epileptic seizures is the foremost step towards the correct diagnosis, treatment and prognostication of the condition. Reports of 2001, 2006 and 2010 of the International Legue Against Epilepsy (ILAE) have made significant efforts to achieve better and internationally uniform classification for epileptic seizures. This article focuses on current accepted standard for classification of seizures and epilepsy based on 2010 ILAE classification.
