The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a free online certificate course aimed at helping medical practitioners strengthen rational antibiotic prescribing and support efforts to curb antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Developed in collaboration with Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER), Chennai, the initiative seeks to reinforce antimicrobial stewardship through evidence-based education and practical clinical guidance.

Titled "Rational Use of Antibiotics to Reduce the Threat of Antimicrobial Resistance: A Certificate Course for Medical Practitioners," the program is designed to equip physicians with the knowledge and clinical reasoning needed to optimize antibiotic use across a broad range of common infections and clinical scenarios.
