T he suspended principal of the Gorakhpur BRD Medical College has received support from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) that criticised the Uttar Pradesh government to single out the doctor for punishment . In this regard, the IMA president said that “the suspension of the principal of the medical college should be revoked and all attempts should be made to control the crisis.” Following the tragedy, the Uttar Pradesh government had suspended the principal, who later resigned and blamed the red tapes for delayed payment to the oxygen supply firm that cut the supply.
